The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping with app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, so that you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don’t would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.

Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that work with robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to know if they are working until you actually see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best budget robot vacuum option is probably hybrid. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your house simultaneously. These bots also have a variety of extra features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The negative is that they can be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.

Roborock is one of our most loved robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't have some of the more premium features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent choice when you're willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is noticeable soft around obstacles like wall legs and table legs which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a place where many robot vacuums that are less expensive aren't able to meet. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is superb too, with very little missed corners and along walls.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled via only a few buttons on your device, or via the Roborock App. Through the app, you can start and stop cleaning and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make this robot cleaner amazon easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place emptying the bin is done easily. It also features a large LCD display that is great to have when setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, however it can help you effectively keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design is among the best in the industry however it's quite expensive.

Its base station looks good and is hidden when it's not in use, and the size is relatively compact. But the station's biggest selling point is how it automates many tasks and functions that most other robots leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Many other robots require you to do this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive, too. It's the only robot vacuum I've tested that does an excellent job of removing debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of your home. It also can't climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.

Although it doesn't provide as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app or as many in-app shortcuts like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and robot vacuum cleaner on sale vacuum that's worth the higher price tag.

If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are other options on the market. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance, is cheaper and offers a similar in-app experience with additional features such as stair climbing, a full-function dock, and a better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning on hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at an affordable price point. It's easy to set it up, simply connect one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then connect the charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock near a power outlet and ample space to allow it to move around however.

The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it can fit under most couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. Its design is a little more modest than other models, sporting sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.

The main feature that sets the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of the immovable objects in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it can't access. If it requires a recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it left off.

The elegant G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life, while providing superior performance on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin, which doesn't require more emptying. It also comes with boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30, however is less expensive and is much easier to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and has less difficulty handling bulky products such as cereal.
