World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will be able to gain an additional 3% of the previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is used (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item level upgrade will drop during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, and a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.

In the final game, you will often find that the best way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is Best item upgrade to put Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example an Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different number of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an individual player upgrades an item the original item will be replaced by a new item. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may increase in price even if you do not require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can waste many resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player continuously enters or exits water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item is highly valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to go to its original state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as chances to be crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time or reloading speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade items an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For instance they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to carry every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs listed above.
